With many students in the UK asking if traditional examinations are the most effective means of assessing knowledge, with the recent growth of the use of coursework, presentations, and online forms of assessment, exams are beginning to be viewed as outdated and often cause students to feel pressured.
Some students believe that while exams may test memory, they do not test actual comprehension; however, other students feel that exams are the best form of assessment because they allow one to measure the same standards of performance on the same material and also discipline the student. Many students are also exploring ways to deal with the stress of exams by finding or obtaining help with their assignments in the UK ,due to the level of coursework that students have to complete being overwhelming.
