Hello, Exiles! After a brief nap and a groggy morning, I'm here to share my day one experience with the Bogged Shaman Righteous Fire (RF) build in Path of Exile. Spoiler: it's been both challenging and exciting.

Early Labyrinth & Campaign Progression

We kicked things off with Vile as our first lab, which felt solid for early progression. The bane setup in Act 3 (or was it Act 4?) has been incredibly strong for cruising through the campaign. Many players might not have anticipated the difficulty spike from gauntlet-style bosses plus enrage mechanics. Quick target kills are crucial here,with POE orbs and this setup allows you to do just that.

Building Resistance Early

One of the most important aspects early on is resistance management, especially with the -40 penalty from Toad Pact. To mitigate this:

Use Holy Dominion and Practical Application

Stack Diamond Skin

Acquire gear that boosts resistances

These early choices make surviving enrage bosses far more manageable.

Additionally, Immortal Flesh is almost mandatory in the early game. Its life regen helps offset the downside of Pandemic, which reduces life by 5% per second.

Gear & Crafting Insights

I've been doing a fair bit of crafting on the passive tree:

Helmet: crafted, but underwhelming

Gloves: crafted and strong

Boots: crafted, acceptable

We also picked up some key items from drops and vendors:

Rise of the Phoenix from a ritual, boosting sustain

Cloak of Flames (10c) – despite initial hesitation, necessary for early damage mitigation

Winter Heart Amulet – cheap and effective, giving dexterity and essential resistances

The overall focus has been survivability and sustain over raw damage in the early game.

Mapping & Gameplay Impressions

Running early maps with the build has been satisfying:

Damage: The 40% more damage bonus feels impactful, even without fully leveled or qualified RF.

AoE: Not huge yet, as RF's base radius scales with level and quality. Investing in quality early is key to maximizing Toad Pact's AoE benefits.

Deaths have been more frequent than usual, largely due to enrage mechanics on bosses, but that's par for the course with this setup.

Passive Tree & Progression Goals

Looking at the passive tree, the next priorities include:

Incorporating Glancing Blows for block-based mitigation

Sanctuary & Aggressive Bastion for generating endurance charges

Legacy of Fury jewels to boost fire damage

The focus is clearly on balancing survivability with offense, as current mitigation sources are low and the life pool is modest.

Notable Mechanics & Tools

Heart of Flame: Acts as a super-guard skill, providing excellent protection during bursts

FCHA random modifiers: Adds unpredictability to mapping, though the damage boost is noticeable

Filter usage: I'm keeping an evolving filter for gameplay, updating it as progression continues

Final Thoughts

Overall, day one of the Bogged Shaman RF build has been a solid start. While deaths are frequent and the setup isn't fully optimized, the build shows great promise in damage output and survivability. Moving forward, the focus will be on improving gear, maximizing resistances,with POE currency and refining the passive tree.
